Women are SuperPowers

As women today do you feel you do more or less than before?

Before Women were taking care of the family, making food, baking, cleaning and all of that but majority of the labor outside the home was done by men. Like it has been shown in many movies it was a man's world.

And it has taken so many generations to break this Mould of men working and women staying at home.

Our parents wanted us to be achievers so we got educated. Some of us also went and educated outside the home country. I came to the US when I was turning 19 and I was so disturbed when I had to leave my Pharmacy studies in my first year itself and was highly demotivated.

I don't think I would have continued my studies after my liberal arts degree if my mom had not pushed me that we have to get Bachelors. That really pushed me.

So in the gist of it all I have a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I also completed my Masters in a span of 5 years while being married and producing two kids and raising them. I still don't understand how I did it.

And often my husband tells me how are you using your degree?

The honest answer is I am not.

My intention was always to get into a managerial position from the time I became very serious about my career.

But when you are raising two kids by yourself and your in-laws are not supportive career takes a back seat.

Sure its easy for the man to say I am doing this and that but very few men truly acknowledge what a woman truly does.

Because being a woman is a very tough job.

From listening to our parents seeing out mother in the kitchen and hoping to change the future, we then go study achieve these accolades.

But then when life happens we end up repeating our mothers past in a similar manner.

How many of you gave up your career because there was no one to take care of your child, or because daycare was too expensive or something else?

So many of us.

And those who ended up staying in their careers and raising kids sure I do applaud them because it must not have been an easy choice for them to make, but sometimes its also about how luck is on your end or not.

And maybe for some of us the kids need us more or we go through a traumatizing beginning that it is difficult for them to actually put the kids back in daycare and worry about pickup and drop off.

I salute all of you my lovely people.

Sure Dad's today may do a lot more than what Dad's did before but so do Moms right. We pick up so much more than before.

And it never stops.

All I want to say is keep going on and don't ever give up.

My intention is to bring positivity to your life and a new perspective to think from.
